The Granite Vaults, A Collection Marvel

2/6/2012

The greatest collection in the world of genealogical records is located at one of the most impressively secured archives, known as the Granite Mountain Record Vaults, located near the same area where granite was cut out of the mountain for use in building the Salt Lake Temple.

The Vaults have over 3 billion records and each of them is being digitalized for use of genealogists around the world through the online service known as FamilySearch.org .

I invite you to view this short film on the Vaults to learn more.

I also have a personal connection to the Vaults.  My Son-in-Law Jonathan works there and is heavily involved with the digitizing process of the records held there.  He is also featured in the video, shown working there.

What a marvelous work and a wonder is this collection!
